Blue/Green algae have become every lake's worst nightmare. Ralph Pentland and Rem Westland will report upon what is happening to lakes in our general area, and what we living in the watershed of Sharbot Lake can do about it.

I have noted, by the way, that Chamcook Lake in New Brunswick - which provides the water for the town of St. Andrews - had a blue-green algae problem last summer (2013) yet the lake is measured to be low in nutrients and in excellent condition. Some folk talk about a new strain of these algae emerging. If anyone has more detail about this it would be great to hear from you.
