Elections 2022

Municipal & School Board Elections are held every four years on the fourth Monday of October in Ontario. The next Municipal & School Board Election will be held Monday, October 24, 2022. The last Municipal & School Board Election was held on October 22, 2018 and under the Municipal Elections Act, the four-year term of office for the current council and school board trustees began December 1, 2018, and ends November 14, 2022.

If you are a resident, owner or tenant of property in Ontario, a Canadian citizen and 18 years of age you can vote in Ontario’s municipal and school board elections. 

We all play a role in ensuring a fair electoral system, and it is the responsibility of every elector to make sure their information is up-to-date and accurately reflected for electoral purposes. 

Is my Name on the Voters List? If not, how do I get my name added?

Contact the Clerk’s Department by following this link: https://centralfrontenac.formbuilder.ca/Are-you-on-the-Voters-List; and submitting the form; email The Township or contact the Clerks Department by phone.

PLEASE NOTE: Submitting the form as mentioned above is only to verify your information, they cannot use this to change your voting information.  Voters information can only be changed by submitting an EL15 form to the Township.

They will double check the Voters List to validate they have the correct mailing address, the correct physical address for your property here in Central Frontenac and make sure the correct date of birth is on file.  This will help to ensure that the Voter Information Letter gets to the right spot!

How do I Vote in the 2022 Municipal Election?

·        The Township has chosen to use electronic voting for the 2022 Municipal Election by telephone or online voting, there will not be the option of paper ballot.

·        Voters will receive a Voter Information Letter in the mail early to mid-October. The letter will have a website or telephone number to use to cast your vote. The letter also contains a PIN unique to each person.

·       The Voter will log onto the website or call the number and enter their PIN and their date of birth to vote.

·        The voting period will be from Monday, October 17, 2022 at 8:00 am until Monday, October, 24, 2022 at 8:00 pm.

·        Voting assistance will be available at the Township office, by phone or by email from October 17, 2022 to October 21, 2022 between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm and October 24, 2022 between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm.

Can I vote in 2 places if I own a cottage and live somewhere else?
